dc.descriptionSchool Psychology curriculum is about the latest theory and practice of school psychology/educational psychology. We created it for MA students and teacher-to-be students, but we strongly believe it could be useful for everyone who is interested in school issues. The curriculum contains nine chapters, each of those is related to the field of education on a highly practical way. First three chapters introduce school psychology itself– including its theory, practice and problem areas. We used current research to give a solid knowledge base about the problems schools face like bullying or lack of motivation. We also show possible solutions concerning those problems. Chapters 4-7 focus on the area of learning. In Chapter 4, we overview the development process which leads us to the ability of effective learning. We introduce some commonly used tools helping us map cognitive functions like attention, memory and decision-making. Chapter 5 is a WISC IV. Demonstration which helps us show our students how to use professionally the popular new version of the well-known Wechsler IQ test battery. Chapter 6 is about the methodology of learning. We all find it very important to demonstrate some practical learning techniques in this chapter. Chapter 7 deals with the extensive area of learning disabilities concerning dyslexia, dysgraphia and dyscalculia. Our main focus is the problem of early diagnosis which is the best way to effective therapy. Chapter 8 is about one of the hardest part of being a school psychologist: the consultation. We introduce techniques through case studies with questions. Our last chapter helps students to cope with the complicated field of studying school organizations.en_EN
